Finding
Joy

Life's joys
are simple and real. They are a three-year-olds giggles,
a puppies play, a first kiss, a special "oldies"
song, a letter from a dear friend, each of us has many
special times we hold very near and dear. Those special
thoughts and memories bring on an overwhelming feeling
of happiness, contentment and joy. The joyful feeling
will take you back instantly to the happy person you
were the moment that event made such a lasting impression
on your soul.
Journey to
that special place inside yourself right now. First,
think about your favorite special memory or turn on
your favorite old music. Take it in and feel how it
changes every cell in your body, first in your stomach
(or solar plexus) with excitement and butterflies. Feel
that warm pleasure as it rises to your heart center
(heart chakra), tingles radiate all over your body bringing
you quickly back to that wonderful time of freedom and
happiness that carved this magical moment into your
spirit. The smile and tingles soon reach your face,
your whole body is alive with the feeling of joy you
had at that special moment, long ago.
Stay there
and enjoy that wonderful feeling of peace and happiness
for a while. There you are sitting in that chair feeling
the best you have felt in a long time and then you realize
that nothing is any different then it was 2 minutes
ago when you started reading this article. But, it has
to be different, your whole body feels warm, connected
and energized by pleasure. You are at a place where
you want to stay, you would love to feel this way all
the time, right?
Was it hard
to feel that joy? Of course not, it was the easiest
thing you've done in a long time because it was totally
natural and happened without your conscience mind having
to get involved. Your physical body could not resist
being taken over by the happiness of that memory. Even
if you tried to fight it off, your physical body would
still feel that feeling, it may not linger, but you
would feel it.
Joy is our
natural place to be. It is our perfection. It is where
we should all be every single day, no matter what other
issues we may have to deal with. Our spirit, our body
and our mind need to feel that joy every single day.
So, how can you make sure you allow yourself to let
go of your "stuff" every day and feel joy,
happiness and love?
That is the
easiest thing you can do, it truly is, even though it
may seem impossible. First, remember how easy it was
just a few minutes ago to feel the pleasures of a moment
from your past. Then think about many happy times in
your life; write them down if you can. See the connection
to the way you felt and the environment or the situation
surrounding the special time. You will probably find
that those special times were no different then your
life today. You had issues and situations to deal with,
but the belly laugh or caring moment that touched you
so deeply took over your day to day life and made you
feel happy down to the core of your being.
So, if you
think of your person, your being as a many layered thing,
similar to an onion. You will soon understand that the
Joy and Happiness is part of you, it IS the core of
your being and always will be. But you have allowed
your self to put layer upon layer of issues on top of
that radiant beauty deep inside you, and as a result
have dampened it's warm light. The issues, no matter
how big they seem at the time are going to be gone,
they will not stay with you a lifetime, they may stay
a week or so, maybe even a bit longer but they will
not be with you forever.
Allow yourself
a trip to your inner soul, to your joyful memories every
single day. You know from the exercise we did a few
minutes ago that it doesn't take very long. Then, everyday,
allow the joyful feeling to linger with you just a few
minutes longer. Open up those layers of issues by cutting
through them to allow light and energy to come from
the center of your person, from your spirit, your heart.
You can still carry the issues if you wish, but do not
allow them to totally envelope the person you really
are. Keep the light pouring out of your heart, the loving
energy you carry inside of you can brighten every situation
for not only yourself but everyone around you. Every
issue will diminish in strength by facing the loving
light of your own internal strength. It may seem difficult,
but you are only asking yourself to be totally joyful
for 5 minutes today and 7 minutes tomorrow and 9 minutes
the day after. Keep moving ahead only a few minutes
more each day, you can do it, YOU know you can!
Always remember that YOU are not the issues you are
dealing with, YOU are the spirit, the joyful, loving
soul deep inside who feels love for every person in
every situation. If there is an environment that makes
you feel uncomfortable, then avoid it to the best of
your ability. Live life to it's fullest most loving
and joyful potential every single day. Do not let outside
issues and situations effect your internal joy and light.

then you think by Hale Dwoskin. It is a pleasure to
